Recently I was reading over some documentation related to African orishas. While reading up on Elegba, I found some amazing similarities to Hecate.

Who is Elegba? Elegba is said to be the owner of doorways and roads. He is stands at the crossroads and is said to be a messenger between worlds. His colors are red and black. He has a close relationship with the orisha of divination.
I'm sure there are other deities whose paths cross, so to speak. I found it extremely interesting that this African deity and Hecate had these similarities. Here's a bit more on Elegba.
